Roadtrip: Myers Dinner Theatre in Fountain County
Guest Roadtripper Peggy Hollingsworth, a retired high school librarian and "lifelong lover of all things history", especially Indiana history, suggests a visit to Myers Dinner Theatre. It's in the small town of Hillsboro, in west central Indiana, off I-74 going west from Indianapolis in Fountain County.
Peggy tells us that she's always "heard" of Hillsboro, knowing folks in college and beyond from there. But it was about 10 years ago that she joined a travel club that frequently took a "Mystery Trip", and the Myers Dinner theatre was the main destination to see their live Christmas show. And she hasn't stopped going since! Peggy tells us she enjoys the selection of musicals and plays, along with the home cooked dinners that precede the show.
Peggy also tells us that Hillsboro's name came from its surrounding hilly terrain, and it's in the heart of the Wabash Valley. By the way, Hoosier History Live recently took a Roadtrip to Fountain County to visit Portland Arch Nature Preserve!
